just make the dang decision 🧡

Oh the joy of overthinking…said no one ever!

But overthinking doesn't stop at just letting your brain spend unproductive time on things you might not be able to control.

It also causes what I like to call “decision fatigue.”

Have you ever had to make a decision that seemed fairly simple? But instead of just choosing between several good options, you spent days or weeks weighing all the possible pros and cons? (What if, what if, what if!)

We overthink nearly everything – from the color of car we should buy to where we should eat dinner tonight. And when we overthink, we get decision fatigue.

Suddenly, even small decisions become much bigger and complicated than they were ever meant to be. I mean, just choose the blue car and eat at Chick-fil-A!

That's why this week’s quote made me laugh out loud the first time I read it – because I think we can all relate.

Overthinking makes every decision feel important.

When, in reality, you should spend your highest brain power on the big decisions that really matter. (And you get to decide what those decisions are!)

Your Action Step: Remember, you can always hit the “reset” button. Any time, any place. When you start overthinking and struggling with decision fatigue, pause. Hit the “reset” button. Decide what matters to you and if a decision is urgent. Then make the best choice possible given the options available to you.

Don't overthink it. Just make the dang decision 🧡

With love,

Jamie
